We offer Wills, Probate and Powers of Attorney appointments at our Aylesbury office in Bourbon Street. This is conveniently located for easy access to car parks, as well as the bus and train station. If you are unable to come to us, home visits are also available.
We have now been joined by Mrs Jennifer Bleby who will be working part time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She can advise on wills, powers of attorney and probate matters.
Services on Offer:
Straightforward Will Writing
Single will – £180.00 inclusive of VAT
Couple – £300.00 inclusive of VAT
Powers of Attorney
Single person for both property finance and health and welfare – £360 inclusive of VAT.
Couple for both property finance and health and welfare – £600 inclusive of VAT.
Plus court fees of £82 for each power of attorney document.
Deeds and Important Documents
We do not charge to store deeds, wills and powers of attorney and are happy to do this for clients of other firms who cannot offer this service.
Probate – Fees and Hourly Rates
The charges vary depending on the complexity of the matter and how much you wish to do yourself.
Probate - estimated costs
We estimate that obtaining a grant and dealing with the estate takes between 10 and 15 hours work at £200 per hour (£240 VAT inclusive). Total costs estimated at between £2,000 and £3,000 (£2,400 and £3,600 VAT inclusive).
Fees we have to pay to others
Probate Court application fee of £273 plus extra fees for copies of document.
Bankruptcy searches (£2 per beneficiary)
Advertisements £500 to protect against unexpected claims from unknown creditors.
Valuation fees
How long will the process take?
Applications for Probate in estates are usually made within 2-3 months of instructions being received.
Obtaining the grant of probate takes at least16 weeks from submitting the application.
Collecting the assets, paying debts and distributing the estate takes 4 to 8 weeks on average.
